Our company is currently seeking a Fabrication Lead and Press Brake Operator to help coordinate, monitor, and produce various components for an industrial-grade bakery equipment manufacturer. Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, this individual will be involved with a variety of tasks in the fabrication department as well as direct responsibility for programming, operating, and basic preventive maintenance tasks of the Trumpf press brake.
Who You Are
- Responsible for the day-to-day programming, operating, and standard maintenance tasks of the Trumpf CNC Press Brake. Sheet metal forming of material ranging in thickness from 0.050” to 0.375”.
- Monitoring, organizing, and providing status updates of parts produced through the various fabrication work centers.
- The candidate must have the ability to plan and organize work activities in logical manufacturing order to effectively complete delegated tasks.
- Must possess basic blue-print reading and layout abilities.
- With supervisors’ guidance, alter dimensions on products to fit applications demands.
- Ensure the working environment is clean, organized, and safe.
- Collaborate with department Supervisors, Operations, and Engineering personnel to address discrepancies or communicate suggestions for improvement.
- Must be familiar with standard drill and tap sizes, familiarity with tapping arms is a plus.
- Ability to use (or desire to learn) a hydraulic sheet metal roller to create cylindrical and conical sheet metal goods.
- Ability to use angle grinders for grinding, deburring and cutting activities.
- Experience with hand drills, magnetic drills, and small drill press machines for drilling, reaming and countersinking of holes.
- Use of shears and iron workers.
- Working knowledge of austenitic stainless steel, aluminum, and low carbon grade steel.
- Material handling, unloading trucks and placing products in their proper locations.
- Performs routine machine and plant maintenance as required
- Use of forklifts, overhead cranes, and other work lifting devices.
- Ability to use horizontal and vertical band saws.
- Performs all other duties as required or directed.
- Must comply with all company safety and personnel policies.
What You Must Bring
- Minimum 3 years’ experience programming and operating press brakes
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a general fabrication role
- Minimum 1 year experience in a lead role
- Knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and layout and machine tolerances.
- Ability to interpret and read blueprints and engineering drawings
- Ability to lift 50 plus pounds frequently, occasionally 75lbs
- High School Diploma or equivalent
What Else Would Be Helpful
- Knowledge of fiber laser cutting machinery and processes.
- Ability to weld or familiarity with standard welding processes/procedures
- Working knowledge of cad programs & viewers (AutoCAD/SolidWorks/E-drawings)
- ERP system knowledge
- Ability or desire to use HVLP conventional industrial paint systems.
- Experience working in a low volume/high mix manufacturing operation preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Possess problem solving skills and demonstrate a positive attitude.
