What is the role?

Our company is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Shipping/Receiving technician for our parts department. Under the general direction of the Inventory Control Supervisor, this position will be responsible for labeling and staging of incoming inventory, as well as the picking and packaging of internal and customer orders on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have previous shipping and receiving experience, excellent communication skills, and general inventory knowledge. The successful applicant will be able to use an ERP-based system to receive in all material and ship out and label all customer product.

Who You Are

  • Picks and packs sales orders; selects appropriate shipping container/box, packs items to ensure safe delivery
  • Checks items to be shipped against sales orders to verify that quantities, destination, and routing are correct
  • Ships the packed parts using a UPS shipping program prior to daily pickup
  • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment
  • Inspects shipments for damages, defects or shortages/overages. Reports any issues to Supervisor
  • Sorts, counts, packages, labels, and dispositions all materials that are received
  • Pulls parts needed for production floor assemblies or machines
  • Daily inventory cycle counting
  • Daily trash, cleaning of parts room/facilities
  • Other responsibilities as needed

What You Must Bring

  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must show competency with power tools
  • Previous experience in warehouse environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
  • Forklift experience and certification
  • Ability to work independently. Self-motivated, efficient time management, attention to detail
  • Must be punctual, a self-starter and team player
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety standards
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer proficiency
