Reports to: Senior Electrical Engineer


Job Responsibilities:

  • Define, structure and release bill of material kit of electrical wire and components required for equipment integration/test  
  • Update and release schematics as required.
  • Hands-on electrical assembly and integration of equipment as required   
  • Hands-on support of factory assembly, system power up and debug
  • Execute factory commissioning of equipment.  Support product applications testing
  • Execute customer site commissioning of equipment as required.  Support customer production testing and start-up.  
  • Update schematics, PLC and HMI programs as necessary for factory and field equipment commissioning and tests
  • Serve as direct first pass support of Gemini Customer Service for electrical and controls related issues reported from the customers.   Drive issues to resolution.
  • Interface with Project Management, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Customers to ensure successful execution of projects
  • Review standards and compliance requirements applicable to the electrical control systems, provide recommendations as required 
  • Ensure compliance to industry and regional health and safety standards
  • Develop and generate Operation Manuals of assigned projects.  I.E. screen shots and description of operation.
  • Maintain an ongoing commitment and involvement in the quality improvement process
  • Determines requirements and installs modifications as set forth by customer and Gemini engineering department.
  • Communicates problems/observations to Gemini engineering and manufacturing managers.


Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or High School/Trade School electrician diploma with relevant experience.
  • Able to use hand tools and power tools to assemble and wire control components and devices according to instructions, procedures and specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with other assemblers, supervisors and engineers.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical devices and their functionality.
  • Must know how to use electrical test instruments.
  • Must have a basic understanding of electrical theory.
  • Must be able to work with engineering to verify drawings and designs.
  • Inverter, DC drive and basic PLC programming knowledge and experience required (basic technician level).  Gemini will provide more advanced PLC training programs to develop candidate’s capability.
  • Experience wiring machines and building small control panels is required.
  • Experience working to UL standard environment
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code
  • Working knowledge on equipment safety and interlock requirement
  • Ability to work from industrial schematic diagrams is required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of gear box and drive assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of electrical instrumentation and controls.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in manufacturing / industrial setting.
  • Willingness to travel when needed up to 20%.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Trade School diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the assembly and troubleshooting of electro/mechanical industrial equipment.
  • Exposure to equipment field installations.
  • Above average skills with hand tools, power tools, calipers, etc. to assemble, repair and modify equipment according to specifications and instructions.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. Working knowledge of PLC controls is preferred.
  • Must be able to read and understand internal process documents
  • Working knowledge of operating procedures and understands why they are needed
  • Working knowledge of close mechanical tolerances (less than .001”) and electromechanical devices
  • Working knowledge of electrical instrumentation and controls
  • Ability to lift and or move 50 pounds and occasionally move 100+ pound items, climb ladders and work at above-average work heights, work in hot and cold workplaces, and confined work areas.
  • Self-motivated, efficient time management, attention to detail
  • Must be able to submit written job reports, expenses, pictures and videos for job-related items using Microsoft office products.
  • Willingness to travel. Travel is approximately 80%. This can be local or long distance. Must be willing to work after hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must have a vehicle, valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a passport and ability to operate a forklift and/or scissor lift (Gemini provides training if needed).
