What is the Role:

The Sr. Process Engineer will assume the lead role in the direction of supporting resources involved in the creation of project deliverables such as: process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, process calculations, utility summaries and calculations, equipment and instrument lists, data sheets and specifications as relates to the bulk storage and pneumatic conveyance of powdered ingredients used in the industrial baking industry. https://geminibakeryequipment.com/equipment/ingredient-handling/

  1. Integrating design disciplines such as architectural, piping, building, mechanical, automation, electrical, and qualification into an optimized solution
  2. Performing process simulations, optimization tests, system upgrades and troubleshooting issues.
  3. Ensuring that the job specification application information required for effective proposals, design, manufacturing, installation, and operation of ingredient handling systems is provided to Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Vendors and Customers
  4. Providing technical support when required for site installation and service calls
  5. Providing education and training for Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and Service personnel on ingredient systems product and applications as required
  6. Providing specifications and designs to outside equipment suppliers as part of an overall equipment design solution
  7. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
  • You understand the value of a managed design process along with the value of standardized work to ensure that products and processes comply with safety and quality standards.
  • You believe in utilizing a risk-based design approach to meet all safety, food safety, and quality standards.

What You Bring:

  • BS degree in an Engineering discipline with 7+ years of experience of progressive responsibility in the design, commissioning or operation of related capital equipment
  • Experience with applicable regulatory requirements including NFPA and NEC desired
  • Comprehension and working knowledge of tolerancing
  • Working knowledge of industrial operations such as product/process flow, ERP
  • Strong organizational, analytical, leadership and communication skills
  • Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of Solidworks and/or AutoCAD 2D
  • Travel as required (up to 25%)

What Else Would Be Helpful:

  • Experience in dry, bulk storage and pneumatic conveyance systems
  • Experience with rotary airlock feeders, air movers, positive displacement blowers, aeration and dust collection, fans, diverter valves, process valves, venting, weighing and scaling, and pipe router conventions
  • Basic knowledge of PLC function and use, programming knowledge not required
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring and installation
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience
